Float Like a Feather

Float Like a Feather - Gabrielle Dominguez

This week, I am taking time to rest and recover as I move through a cold.

And in this stillness, I noticed something…

That familiar feeling of needing to do something.
The thoughts that say, “This isn’t how the week should look.”

It made me reflect on a recent experience that reminded me of a different way of being.

I recently came back from a trip to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, and it was nothing short of magical.

What made it even more special was how unplanned it all was.

We went in with minimal research, no strict itinerary… just allowing each day to unfold naturally.

At first, this brought up a lot of discomfort for me.

I felt uneasy.
Like I should have planned more.
Like I needed to know what was coming next.

But being in a brand new environment, I slowly felt that need for control begin to unravel.

By the second morning, something shifted.

I woke up early at our Airbnb, tucked at the top of a mountain in Gatlinburg. While we didn’t have a direct view of the sunrise, the view of the forest was breathtaking.

I sat on the balcony, taking it all in.

And then I heard it…

A young child singing in the distance.
Birds harmonizing alongside the melody.
Even a crow perched nearby, as if it was listening too.

It was one of those moments you can’t plan.

And in that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace and joy.

I continued my morning with meditation, yoga, and a walk further up the mountain…

And just like that, the need for control had faded.

From that point forward, I let go.

I allowed myself to float like a feather.

Not needing to know where we were going next.
Not needing to plan every detail.
Just trusting each moment as it came.

And because of that, the trip became one of the most memorable and present experiences I’ve had.

It reminded me that life doesn’t always need to be controlled to be beautiful.

Sometimes, the most meaningful moments come when we allow ourselves to soften… and trust the flow.

So I leave you with this:

Where in your life are you being called to loosen your grip?
Where can you allow yourself to flow a little more freely?

If this message resonated and you're navigating your own season of letting go, you don’t have to do it alone. Energy work can help you process, release, and reconnect with your inner clarity.
